Validator: School Bus

This Validator is a component of the Wayfarer® Automatic Fare Collection & Revenue Management System:

           > Tag-In/Tag-Out Multi-Door Distance Based Automatic Fare Collection (AFC)

           > Access Control (on vehicle & gate control)

           > Live Tracking

           > Driver Time / Attendance

           > Duty System (Scheduled vs Operated)

Used by: Public Transport Operators for Fare Collection; Schools, Mines, Companies and Universities for Access Control.

It has built-in GPS and 3G for live vehicle location tracking, control-room functionality and automatically communicates with the central server via 3G for Online Reporting. Transaction data is automatically uploaded to the Server, while configuration data is downloaded from the Server.

Smartcards are registered to a passenger’s profile identifying every passenger in the system, allowing for passenger specific card management functions such as blacklisting lost cards, extending expiry dates, adding trips or value, issuing new cards; along with passenger specific reports, automatic sms’ to parents, emails to employers, and real-time monitoring of who is on the fleet of vehicles.

The passenger presents a smartcard to the Validator which allows/denies access & deducts a trip or value from the passenger’s smartcard, while displaying the balance, route/zone validity & expiry date.

Automatically handles Smartcards for:

           > Blacklisting (lost cards)

           > Recharge (adding trips or value, extending expiry dates, routes/zones changes)

Connects to the Wayfarer Back Office Software Suite (for Configuration, Monitoring & Online Reporting)
